On 9 August 2016, the Australian Bureau of Statistics orchestrated the largest distrtibuted denial of service attack in the history of the internet by forcing 24 million Australians to log on and hammer the government webserver to get the Census done (or fined $180).
Mum & Dad: "Why isn't it working?"
Me: "The webserver is down."
Mum & Dad: "What does that mean?"
Me: "We're not doing the Census tonight."
