I took the following two photographs last year in December during the Japanese Festival at Darling Harbour, Sydney. I took them in front of the Chinese Gardens. I wanted to digitally alter the photographs to have a soft-focus and aged appearance.
Model: Anya Kimochi
1/160s, f7.1, ISO 100, 85mm
1/160s, f6.3, ISO 200, 200mm
They were both processed similarly using Adobe Lightroom 4. It's ironic that I use high quality gear to produce ultra sharp images, and then degrade the heck out the image quality using digital post processing techniques.
After initial preparation of the image in Photoshop, I introduced a custom film filter (VSCO film pack). Then altered the white balance to suit my taste. I proceeded to lower the contrast, desaturate the image and then introduced digital noise/grain. The last step was adding the soft-focus to the overall image. I quite like it for Anya.
