Another year of the zombie shuffle in Sydney.
Based on past experience with the zombie walks, I would take most of my best photos during the preparation time at Hyde Park. Once zombies are in motion, there is no catching up with the main horde as they march down to Prince Alfred Park at Railway Square. This year there were a lot of people (mostly spectators) so I stayed with my friends in the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (UBCS) group, and occasionally pulled a couple of interesting zombies for a shoot when i got the chance.
All of the photos below were shot wide open at f2.8. I juggled between shutter priority and aperture priority depending on the location and lighting. Luckily it was overcast so the lighting was not harsh or changing frequently. I really love the Canon 200/2.8 L for tight portraits. It renders a beautiful background blur that my Sigma 85/1.4 just can't match.
