I went to the Sydney Wedding Expo today at the Sports Centre, Sydney Olympic Park. Photography was my main objective, but not to shoot pictures. This was my chance to get some research notes on the wedding industry and the various kinds of services being offered to would-be brides & grooms, and guests.
I brought home lots of samples of wedding services and products, as well as portfolio brochures/price lists of professional wedding photographers. My arm is rather sore holding that thick magazine for 2 hours. 'The Bride's Diary' for Sydney, normally RRP AUD$116.
There were two thick books to choose from. One was a complete wedding guide, this one seems to just focus on brides. I only wanted the one with the most photographs so I can start learning to replicate lighting, poses, setting, and mood. :-)
There was a nice variety of services ranging from hair styling; floristry; gifts; invitation designs; sweets and cakes; accomodation; photography; cinematography; vehicle hire; celebrants; make up artists; location hire; dresses; gowns; suits; music/bands; entertainment and even a magic show.

Gifts and flowers
There were some satin dresses but i didn't see many exhibits like I did at the vintage festival earlier in the year. This was the only one i took a photo of.
